There is a bug in Entourage 2004 whereby Exchange accounts with large mailbox sizes, attachments, etc. do not sync properly using the Exchange OWA DAV protocol (e.g. Webmail). Using IMAP is a viable workaround to this predicament.
If you are continually prompted for a password when connecting to Exchange server, you may need to enable UPN authentication on your Exchange server.
If this does not work for you, try to use the DOMAIN\username\alias format as the username instead of just the SAM account name.
